#Can we just talk about Santana’s smile in the bottom left gif? For so long after the Hurt Locker, Santana couldn’t help herself: She kept getting Brittany’s hopes up, only to let her down in the end. It seemed like every time Santana looked at Brittany, all she could see was heartsoreness and dashed hopes; Brittany believed in Santana so much, and yet Santana just kept fucking everything up, from the glee shirts, to the ridiculous melted cheese show, to the prom. All that disappointment made Brittany look tired and sad. Seeing Brittany like that broke Santana’s heart. But that was all a long time ago and so much has changed for them over the summer. Things aren’t quite perfect for them yet, but Santana thinks that maybe they could be soon. Santana feels hopeful about that for the first time now, actually. And why? Because she’s finally done something right. Santana said the right thing at the right time for the right reason. She was there for Brittany when Brittany needed her. And that’s why Santana’s smiling like a goon: because making Brittany happy is Santana’s favorite thing. It’s like she was born to do it—to put smiles on that girl’s face. It’s what Santana wants to do for the rest of her life. She can’t believe she never realized that before.
